This is such a basic question and it freaks people out!!!
Of course, it comes from the notion that the law of attraction is always on. Given that, we know we are always getting more and more of what we think and feel about - whether we want it or not - so it is certainly in our best interest to simply make statements to the Universe about what we're wanting. I certainly didn't make any of this up, did I? But since I'm obsessed with helping us to integrate these concepts into our daily life experiences, I've got to ask the question. And I'll be asking it again and again and again. What do you want?
When we say things like "it's hard" - the response I hear from virtually everyone - we first have to hear "it's hard" as the belief it is. Beliefs matter because they create the experiences we will have so right off the bat, why set ourselves up for "it's hard?" And what the heck is our problem anyway? Imagine taking a six year old (for whom you have no parenting responsibility!) into a candy store, intending to spoil him like crazy and you are all excited about how excited he will be and you walk in and he stops in his tracks. You can hardly contain your enthusiasm, relishing how you will be the favorite aunt or uncle for years to come and he won't budge. He starts getting nervous and says "it's hard" to decide. And you tell him he doesn't even have to decide, he can have anything and everything he wants. And he stumbles and stammers and 15 minutes later, there's no candy in his hands and he's still standing in the same place and the store is jam-packed!
We are far too often that kid and we are learning now that all our ideas of lack and limitation that we learned as kids and in our culture are lies! Out and out lies! The world is our candy store and we really can have whatever we want because of this little thing called the law of attraction.
Another response I often receive to this question goes along these lines: What if I ask for something I'm not supposed to have? And again, I have to say, let's lose that notion that we aren't supposed to have the things we desire, be they material or otherwise. When we listen to inspiration and follow our urgings to be, do, or have whatever it is, we cannot go wrong. Ever.
You're going to get something. In fact, you're going to get what you think about and what you feel about. So what do you want?
